What I love most about this book is that is was written by someone who obviously loved vaudeville, had been
around the see much of its best, and was writing at a time (1940) when some of the old stars were still alive.
He's talking to you across a table, not from a lecturn - sharing all the gossip and stories he's picked up
along the way. It makes for fascinating reading, and a deep longing to have been there to have seen it all.
