Merrily We Roll Along opened May 26, 1998 and closed July 17, 1998 at the York Theatre.

In an April 2010 interview for National Public Radio's Fresh Air series, Stephen Sondheim remarked
that this production at the York was the first time Merrily We Roll Along had ever been "the show we wanted".
